Youth wrongly convicted of murder acquitted

The Supreme Court on Sunday morning acquitted Gregory Bashirov, who served three years in prison for murder, of the charges against him. Bashirov was convicted for the murder of a 25-year-old youth near the Rishon Lezion central bus station some four years ago. Justices Edmond Levy, Salim Jubran, and Elyakim Rubenstein ruled that the authorities had used undue pressure on one of the key witnesses in the case, a 16-year-old girl.
