Israeli, German artists tackle 'Adam Resurrected'

A film version of the novel Adam Resurrected, which marks the first collaboration between Israeli and German artists on a Holocaust-themed film, is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February, The Observer reported Sunday. Jeff Goldblum has called his starring role as the novel's protagonist, a German-Jewish clown forced to entertain inmates in a Nazi death camp, the most difficult he has ever played. Willem Dafoe plays the camp commandant. The film also features prominent German and Israeli actors, such as Ayelet Zorer ("Florentine," Munich.) Adam Resurrected was filmed in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Romania, and Germany at a cost of £7 million.
