The Emir of Qatar hosted an American Jewish Committee delegation at his palace in Doha Monday, media in Qatar and Bahrain reported.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in an hour-long meeting, discussed with AJC Executive Director David A. Harris the regional situation, including the search for advancing Arab-Israeli peace prospects, the importance of inter-religious dialogue and cooperation, and the situation in both Iran and Lebanon.
The Executive Committee of the American Jewish Committee arrives in Israel Tuesday for a three-day visit, which includes meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman, Knesset members, and Governor of the Bank of Israel Prof. Stanley Fischer, to discuss the Iranian threat, the abducted soldiers, and the Palestinian issue.
