Fist fight over conversions at Mosad Harav Kook

A fistfight broke out Tuesday evening during a speech given by a controversial rabbinical judge who made headlines in recent months for casting doubt on the validity of hundreds of conversions. Rabbi Avraham Sherman, a judge on the High Rabbinical Court, was greeted with shouts, catcalls and inflammatory picket signs by supporters of Rabbi Haim Druckman, outgoing head of the National Conversion Authority. Sherman was invited to speak at the 70th anniversary of the Mosad Harav Kook publishing house on the subject of conversion.
