Plaque honoring concentration camp victims unveiled in Austria

A plaque honoring Mauthausen concentration camp victims has been unveiled at a nearby train station in the town west of Vienna. A Holocaust and Mauthausen survivor, Walter Beck, unveiled the plaque bearing the names of 51 of the camp's victims, according to one of the organizers, Walter Hofstaetter. Hofstaetter said he hoped the plaque would remind travelers of the tens of thousands of Jews and other prisoners killed and tortured at the camp by the Nazis during the Holocaust. The names on the plaque were meant to represent the "broad spectrum" of victims, he said.
