Social media to link readers to ‘Post’ conference

Readers will be able to join debates on Zionism and the future of the Jewish people through the paper's social media platforms.

Not lucky enough to be attending The Jerusalem Post’s first-ever conference on Zionism taking place Sunday in New York?
Never fear, readers will be able to join the debates about the future of the Jewish people and hear discussions on the major issues facing the State of Israel through the Post’s social media platforms and here on JPost.com.
Designed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Israel’s most-circulated English- language news source, the conference features key personalities from the political, security and literary sectors in Israel and the Jewish world, as well as some of paper’s top reporters and editors.
“I am really pleased about the interest on the Internet generated by The Jerusalem Post Annual Conference in New York,” said Editor-In-Chief Steve Linde. “It is especially exciting because our readers all over the world who can’t attend the conference can follow it live on our website and on Twitter and Facebook.”
Linde added, “As a newspaper, we hope that the distinguished guests at the conference will generate news, both in their speeches and in panel discussions and dialogue with our journalists and the audience. It should be a fascinating event.”
Among those slated to speak at the event are former prime minister Ehud Olmert, Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan, former IDF chief of staff Lt.-Gen. (res.) Gabi Ashkenazi, former Mossad director Meir Dagan and Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon.
From the Jewish world, speakers include Prof. Alan M. Dershowitz, the Felix Frankfurter professor of law at Harvard Law School; Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; Dr. David Breakstone, vice chairman of the World Zionist Organization; and Post columnist Isi Leibler, a former leader of Australian Jewry.
Top media professionals from networks such as CNN, ABC and CBS will also be in attendance, as well as journalists from The Huffington Post, The Washington Post and The New York Post, who will report live.
Some of The Jerusalem Post’s top reporters will also report live from the event, sharing their expertise on the various panels and expressing their insights live on Twitter throughout the day.
Military affairs reporter Yaakov Katz (@yaakovkatz), diplomatic reporter Herb Keinon (@HerbKeinon) and chief political correspondent Gil Hoffman (@Gil–Hoffman) will all cover the conference in real time, including exclusive, one-on-one interviews with keynote speakers.
