The Ra’anana Symphonette Orchestra has announced its 2011-12 season program. The orchestra, which was established more than 20 years ago as a result of mass influx of classic musicians from the former USSR, has found its own niche on the local music scene and has always supported Israeli musicians and composers.Next season, the Symphonette hosts renowned Israeli conductors who are successful both at home and abroad, such as the orchestra’s artistic director Omer M. Wellber, Shlomo Mintz (who will appear as a soloist in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto), Asher Fisch, Noam Sheriff, Gil Shohat, Roni Porat, Doron Solomon and David Sebba.The list of soloists includes pianists Alon Goldstein, Oxana Yablonsky, Dorel Golan and Asaf Fire; violinists Shlomo Mintz, Nitai Zori and Sergey Krylov; singers Stefani Iranayi and Ayala Zimbler; and accordionist Emil Aibinger, to name a few.Special programs include an evening of sacred and hassidic music with baritone Colin Shahat; Invitation to Dance with dancer and choreographer Ido Tadmor; and a program dedicated to Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo.For more details and reservations, visit www.symphonetteco.il or call (09) 745-7773
