Israel Railways will now present a detailed schedule for construction of the wall, which the city has been demanding for some time.

Israel Railways and the Haifa Municipality have at last reached an agreement on the construction of an acoustic protection wall in the Bat Galim neighborhood, reports Yediot Haifa.
Israel Railways will now present a detailed schedule for construction of the wall, which the city has been demanding for some time to protect the area's residents from the noise of passing trains. In some parts of the neighborhood, the train line runs just meters from apartment buildings.
According to the report, although the details of the wall have not yet been finalized, the city has succeeded in its demand that the wall not be transparent. A municipal spokesman said the city was insisting that the wall be covered with brick tiles and with decorative plants, to ensure "the highest-quality protection from the standpoint of acoustics and aesthetics." The spokesman said the city was hoping Israel Railways would "meet its obligations and start work on constructing the wall at the earliest possible opportunity."
