Nobel Prize winners to party in Haifa

The Technion will celebrate Israel's upcoming 60th birthday by holding a convention and party for Israeli and international Nobel Prize winners.

The Technion will celebrate Israel's upcoming 60th birthday by holding a convention and party for Israeli and international Nobel Prize winners, reports Yediot Haifa. The Nobel Prize winners will be the guests of honor at a scientific convention to be held at the Technion on May 19, and later they and their spouses will be treated to trips around the country and celebratory meals in honor of the country's birthday. Among those who have agreed to come to the party are: author Prof. Elie Wiesel (1986, Nobel Peace Prize); Prof. Sir Timothy Hunt of the UK (2001, Medicine); Prof. Kurt Wuthrich of the US (2002, Chemistry); Prof. Ferid Murad of the US (1998, Medicine); Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn of France (1987, Chemistry); Prof. Gunter Blobel of the US (1999, Medicine) ; Prof. David Gross of the US (2004, Physics); and Israeli winners Prof. Robert Aumann (2005, Economics), and Profs. Avraham Hershko and Aaron Ciechanover (2004, Chemistry).
