Haifa's elementary school children are to get a lesson on dental hygiene and a checkup by a dentist after a study found that more than half the children in the city suffer from some kind of dental illness, reports Yediot Haifa. The city's parents' forum asked the Health Ministry to take action after the study came out. According to the report, children in Grades one to six will now receive a lesson on dental hygiene and will each be given a package containing a toothbrush and paste. A ministry-authorized dentist will also examine each child's mouth in the next few months. The project will be funded by the Health Ministry and the municipality, which has dedicated a special budget for it.
