Israel Railways has installed a radar system on the railway crossing at Tzomet Hatechni to warn train drivers of obstacles on the tracks, reports Yediot Haifa. It is the second such radar system to be set up in Haifa, with the first installed at Bat Galim last month.
According to the report, the system warns approaching train drivers of obstacles on the tracks while they are still some distance away, giving them enough time to come to a stop before an accident occurs.
