Haifa's Rambam hospital is still reeling after a violent altercation between an emergency room dentist and a security guard, reports Yediot Haifa.
The dentist, who was taking two patients to the hospital in his car, reportedly decided not to waste time stopping for a security check at the hospital entrance, and instead swerved around the security guard to drive straight in to the grounds. In doing so he allegedly ran over the guard''s foot. The hobbling guard followed the dentist to the emergency room, where a heated "argument" broke out. The dentist was reportedly so enraged that other security guards were called to restrain him.
A hospital spokesman said that every vehicle, including ambulances, had to stop for security checks, and the dentist had not abided by instructions. "To our sorrow, apart from violent visitors and patients, this week we have had to deal with violent doctors," the spokesman said.
