Benefit to benefit kids

Crossroads offers a warm meal and a refuge from the streets where drug abuse and violence have unfortunately become aspects of daily life.

After 10 years of tireless work on behalf of the capital’s disenfranchised English-speaking youth, Caryn Green is stepping down as the director of Crossroads, the downtown Jerusalem outreach center she founded in 2001.
Considered a “home away from home” for many distressed teens – some ofwhom are Israeli citizens and others who are in the country for theyear as tourists or students – Crossroads offers a warm meal, trainedprofessionals to speak with, and a refuge from the streets where drugabuse and violence have unfortunately become aspects of daily life.
In recognition of her countless contributions to the center and thethousands of teens who have received help at Crossroads, the center’sstaff will hold a reception in honor of Green on April 22, at RamatRahel.
The reception will also mark the launch of the Caryn’s Kids Fund, acharity that will help raise funds for Crossroads, and provide servicessuch as educational support, and employment assistance to Jerusalem’sEnglish-speaking at-risk teenagers.
