1 US soldier dead, 5 wounded by small-arms fire south of Baghdad

One US soldier has been killed and five others wounded on Monday southeast of Baghdad, according to the US military.
The military said the soldiers were hit by small-arms fire in an attack near Madain. The area is a volatile mix of Sunni and Shi'ite extremists about 20 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.
