11 Shi'ite pilgrims killed by bomb in Baghdad

Attacks on Shi'ite pilgrims continued Wednesday, with a roadside bomb killing at least eleven people in southern Baghdad, police said. The bomb exploded alongside pilgrims traveling to Karbala, 80 kilometers south of Baghdad, ahead of a Muslim holiday this weekend. Immediately after the blast, gunmen moved in and fired on the pilgrims, police said. At least 11 were killed and 14 wounded, they said. The attack happened in Dora, a mostly Sunni neighborhood of southern Baghdad.
