3 US soldiers killed in northern Iraq explosion

Three US soldiers were killed and another was wounded in an explosion near their vehicle in northern Iraq, the military said Tuesday. The Task Force Lightning soldiers died as a result of injuries sustained while conducting operations Monday in the northern Ninevah province, according to the statement. Another soldier was wounded during the blast and was transported to a US medical facility for treatment, it said.
