Abbas sends two officials to Gaza to meet Haniyeh

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Monday morning sent two officials to the Gaza Strip in order to meet Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, after Haniyeh refused to meet with Abbas' representatives on Sunday. Haniyeh did, however, meet on Sunday with a number of Fatah officials, but no progress was reported to have been made on accepting a bargain regarding the "prisoner's initiative," as Abbas' 10-day deadline for acceptance neared.
