Abdullah: Don't let anger over Gaza disrupt unity

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Thursday urged his people - many of whom are Palestinians - not to put their anger over the fighting in Gaza and Lebanon before the need for national unity. Speaking at a conference near the Dead Sea, the king said he was concerned about the fighting in the Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Iraq and was seeking to raise the Arab role in trying to resolve the conflicts. His call showed how Jordan fears violence spilling over from its neighboring hotspots - Iraq to the east, Israel and the Palestinian territories to the west.
