Assad: General atmosphere in Middle East is positive

The general atmosphere in the Middle East is positive, Syrian President Bashar Assad said Monday.
Meeting Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store in Damascus, Assad called for a more active European role in the peace process between Syria and Israel.
He also said that the restoration of Palestinian national unity was extremely important as it was difficult to achieve any positive progress without the restoration of the Arab national unity.
