Bahrainis call for expelling 5th fleet during Bush visit

Some 300 Bahrainis staged protests near the US Embassy at the Bahraini capital on Saturday, during a visit by US President George W. Bush. Bush arrived in Bahrain on the third leg of a Middle East tour looking to drum up Arab support to confront Iran and push forward the Mideast peace process. He will also be visiting the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Sunni and Shiite Muslim political and rights activists organized a demonstration under the watchful eyes of thousands of anti-riot police, deployed to protect the embassy building in Manama. Bush himself, meanwhile, received a royal welcome by Bahrain's king complete with dancing swordsmen.
