Two explosions tore through a crowded market area in the northern city of Kirkuk on Saturday, killing at least nine people and injuring 60, police said.
The first blast came from a car rigged with explosives and was followed by a suicide attacker who drove a bomb-laden car into a busy area, which included a bus depot in a mostly Kurdish district of the city, authorities said. The blasts also damaged about 20 shops.
Kirkuk is a major oil center with a mixed population of Kurds and Sunni and Shiite Arabs.
