Bombings in northern Iraq kill 13 people, wound nearly 20

Iraqi officials say 13 people have been killed and nearly 20 wounded in two separate bombings in northern Iraq. Police chief Col. Mutlaq al-Shimmari says a parked car bomb exploded as an Iraqi army convoy passed in the Rabiaa area west of Mosul. He says 10 soldiers died in that attack and seven were wounded. The northwestern city of Mosul is believed to be the last urban stronghold of al-Qaida in Iraq.
