A car parked in a garage exploded Monday in Baghdad, killing at least three people and wounding 10, police said.
The blast took place about 10 a.m. near a governmental property registration agency in the Baiyaa, an area with a mixed population of Sunnis and Shi'ites in western Baghdad. Police said five cars and nearby buildings also were damaged.
The area has been a frequent target of suspected Sunni insurgents who apparently have stepped up their campaign of bombings in a bid to derail a 7-week-old US-Iraqi security plan.
