Egypt has asked the International Red Cross to probe allegations made in the Channel 1 documentary film Ruah Shaked (The Spirit of Shaked) that the Shaked reconnaissance unit killed Egyptian prisoners of war after the Six Day War.
The film's creator, Ran Edelist, has already stated that the allegation was erroneous, and stemmed from the fact that Palestinian terrorists were mistakenly identified as Egyptian soldiers in Channel 1 archive footage.
The Red Cross confirmed the request by Egypt, and said it had been submitted to the organization's headquarters in Geneva, Israel Radio reported.
