Egyptian officials said that border guards have wounded two Sudanese migrants trying to cross illegally into Israel Monday.
A security official said one of the men was shot as he tried to crawl under barbed wire on the Egypt-Israel border. The official spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to media.
A hospital official, Imad Kharboush, says the man is in critical condition with gunshots to his eye and leg.
Another Sudanese migrant was also captured nearby, and wounded when Egyptian police struck him on the head with a gun, said the security official.
