Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Saturday that if talks fail to secure the release of kidnapped BBC reporter Alan Johnston, a military operation to rescue him would be justified.
"The Palestinian government must bring about Johnston's release," said Erekat. "If we don't accomplish this thorough negotiations, military action will be deemed justified."
Johnston was kidnapped in Gaza some two months ago.
