Former Palestinian Authority prime minister Ahmed Qurei met with Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Shalah in Damascus on Monday, the newspaper Al-Hiyat reported.
Qurei reportedly asked Shalah to throw his support behind the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, and urged Shalah to work to extend it to the West Bank.
