Fatah calls on Abbas to dismiss government

The Fatah faction in the Palestinian parliament called on its leader President Mahmoud Abbas to dismiss the Hamas-led government, Monday. The call by the Fatah legislators came hours after the three children of a senior Palestinian intelligence officer and Fatah loyalist were killed in a drive-by shooting in Gaza City. Senior intelligence officers blamed Hamas and its allies for the unprecedented attack. "We call upon President Mahmoud Abbas to practice all his constitutional authorities and his role in this historic period and to dismiss this failed government, which is pushing us with its policies and programs to civil war," the Fatah parliament faction said in a statement.
