Fayad's PA gov't ceases its 'emergency' status

Salaam Fayad's emergency Palestinian government resigned and was immediately re-appointed under the title of transitory government, Israel Radio reported Friday overnight. The government resigned because the Palestinian law does not allow it to stay in power any longer, and was re-appointed after Hamas parliamentarians boycotted its opening session several days ago, thus not allowing the parliament to approve it, as its session did not contain the minimum number of members, 67, required to approve it as a permanent government.
