Gaza journalist seeks sanctuary in Norway

A Palestinian journalist from the Gaza Strip is seeking sanctuary in Norway following threats against his life, Al-Jazeera reported Monday morning. Sefadim Shahin, a correspondent for al-Arabiya television network, said he arrived in the Scandinavian country with his family because he could not continue to work in Gaza as a "free journalist." Shahin said he was beaten and that he and family received death threats after he wrote an article on the kidnapping of BBC reporter Alan Johnston, calling the kidnappers "criminals."
