Hamas, Fatah plan separate ceremonies on 60th anniversary of 'nakba'

Hamas and Fatah say they are planning rival ceremonies to mark the 60th anniversary of the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in 1948's War of Independence.
On Sunday, planners from Hamas and Fatah announced separate plans for the memorials, underscoring the growing ideological rift within Palestinian society.
Palestinians refer to the displacement as their "nakba," or catastrophe. In recent years, they have marked the May 15 anniversary with sirens, speeches and rallies.
