Hamas tells PA it is ready to resume truce

The Hamas said Sunday afternoon that it had concluded an agreement with the Palestinian Authority according to which it would return to a state of truce, saying it would stop shooting rockets at Israel if Israel stopped its attacks in the Gaza Strip. The Islamic Jihad said Sunday that there was no need for another truce agreement, and that no meetings were being held between the PA and Palestinian factions, Israel Radio reported. A member of the political leadership of the organization in Beirut said that the organization was still committed to the Cairo understandings and that its operations in recent days were intended for self defense.
