Iraq: Suicide car bomb kills at least seven

A suicide car bomb attack on an Iraqi army checkpoint in northern Iraq killed at least seven people and wounded 18 on Thursday, police said. The attack occurred at about 9 a.m. in Khalis, 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Baghdad, killing six civilians and one soldier and wounding 15 civilians and three soldiers, a police officer said on condition of anonymity out of concern for his own safety.
