Iraqi police: Bombs explode in Karradah, killing 8

Two roadside bombs exploded in central Baghdad after nightfall Sunday, killing at least eight civilians and wounding 23, police said. Cars were shuttling the wounded to a nearby hospital before ambulances could arrive, witnesses said. Six shops and several cars parked nearby were damaged by the blasts. The bombs went off five minutes after one another, about 20 meters (yards) apart, police said. Earlier Sunday, a parked minibus exploded in the same neighborhood, killing 11 people and wounding 15, police said.
