'Jordan worried over plan to send Arab forces into Gaza Strip'
Jordan is worried over plans to send Arab forces to stabilize the security situation in the Gaza Strip, a senior official from the country was quoted by the United Press news agency as saying on Wednesday.
The official reportedly said that Amman feared the initiative might encourage Israel to annex the Gaza Strip to Egypt and to pressure Jordan into accepting administrative and security responsibilities in the West Bank, a move that would entail accepting many Palestinians into the kingdom.
Egypt's foreign minister recently proposed a plan to send Arab forces into the Gaza Strip in interviews to Arab media.
