Kuwaiti Embassy in Lebanon evacuated following threatening phone call

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Lebanon was evacuated Thursday after receiving an anonymous phone call threatening the mission, embassy and police officials said. The embassy official said the precaution was taken after an unknown caller said the embassy will be targeted with two rockets. All staff were immediately evacuated, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to give official statements to the media. In Kuwait City, authorities asked Kuwaitis to delay any planned trips to Lebanon. A foreign ministry official told state-run Kuwait News Agency that Kuwaiti citizens who want to go to Lebanon should "think twice" because of the political situation there. The official was not identified by name.
