A British soldier was killed Saturday following a bomb blast in southern Iraq.
The soldier from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards died of injuries sustained following an attack involving an improvised explosive device, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said on customary condition of anonymity.
Three other soldiers were slightly injured in the incident, he said.
Although the dead man's next of kin have been informed, his name was being withheld until the wider family has been told.
