Morocco has dispatched two C-130 cargo planes loaded with medicine and other humanitarian aid supplies to Lebanon, the MAP state news agency reported Tuesday.
Morocco's King Mohamed VI informed Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Sinioura of the aid in a phone call Monday. The king also was giving Lebanon US$5 million (about €4 million), the official agency said.
The cargo planes, laden with more than 18 metric tons (19.8 short tons) of medicines and 16 metric tons (17.6 short tons) of powdered milk, headed to Damascus, Syria, whose airport has become Lebanon's main air link since the Mediterranean country's only international airport was put out of commission by IDF fighter jets last week.
