Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said Saturday that if the allegations made by the Channel 1 documentary Ruah Shaked (The Spirit of Shaked) that the Shaked reconnaissance unit killed Egyptian prisoners of war in 1967 were true, Egypt would do everything possible to make sure that the "criminals" did not escape punishment.
Mubarak said that before taking action, Egypt would have to confirm the information.
Filmmaker Ran Edelist has already admitted that the archive footage in Ruah Shaked actually showed Palestinian terrorists, and not Egyptian soldiers, as was erroneously reported in the film.
