One killed, 10 wounded as Fatah, Hamas fight on

Gunmen of the rival Hamas and Fatah movements traded fire Monday morning, killing one man and wounding at least 10 despite an agreement hammered out overnight by Egyptian mediators, meant to end a spate of clashes in Gaza that have jeopardized a power-sharing agreement between the sides. The Egyptian security delegation stationed in Gaza brought the two sides together Sunday night and got them to agree to withdraw their forces and exchange captives, spokesmen from Hamas and Fatah said early Monday. But hours later, Fatah said Hamas attacked one of its offices in the north of the city, firing automatic weapons and hurling hand grenades and Hamas said Fatah men attacked a roadblock manned by its militiamen. Hospital officials said a Fatah man was killed and a total of 10 people wounded, from both sides.
