PA cops angry over lawlessness storm Rafah border

Palestinian policemen angry over growing lawlessness in the Gaza Strip and the killing of a police officer in a family feud stormed the Gaza-Egypt border crossing Friday, insisting that members of the two families not be allowed out of the coastal area, security officials and witnesses said. About 100 policemen entered the Rafah compound and took up positions alongside border patrol officers at the customs section of the crossing, the officials and witnesses said. The chief Palestinian security officer at the crossing asked the policemen to leave, but they refused, saying that the inability of the security forces' to control the situation required them to take matters into their own hands.
