Sources in the Palestinian Authority Central Elections Commission said Sunday afternoon that they would require at least three months to prepare for new presidential and legislative elections.
PA President Mahmoud Abbas met with the commission on Sunday after deciding on Saturday to call early elections.
The head of the commission, Hanah Nasser, said at the end of the meeting that "we explained to him the steps involved in holding elections and how much time is needed to hold them. We're talking about at least three months."
