Club-wielding Palestinian Authority police scuffled Tuesday with hundreds of Palestinians in an anti-US protest outside a government building where US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was about to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Chanting "Rice, out, out!" and carrying the flags of terror groups such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hizbullah, about 1,000 protesters clashed with police in front of Abbas' headquarters in the West Bank town of Ramallah. Some women protesters carried large photographs of Lebanese who have died in the fighting in Lebanon. The scuffle came about 45 minutes before Rice was scheduled to arrive at the building to meet with Abbas. Several arrests were made.
