Police: Car bomb in Shi'ite area of Baghdad kills 8

Iraqi police officials say a car bomb in a Shi'ite neighborhood of Baghdad has killed at least eight people and wounded 12 others. The officials say a parked car rigged with explosives exploded around noon Tuesday on a busy commercial street in the Kazimiyah neighborhood in northern Baghdad. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information. The explosion came a day after a wave of bombings killed at least 37 people and wounded more than 100 others in the Iraqi capital.
