Jordan's King Abdullah II has ordered that 23 television screens be set up across his kingdom to give low-income citizens free access to upcoming World Cup games, the Royal Palace said in a statement Wednesday.
Abdullah also donated 300 satellite receivers to the Jordanian Armed Forces to allow the military free access to the Cup, which begins June 9 in Germany.
The Arab Radio and Television pay-TV network has won broadcast rights for the event in the Arab world. In Jordan, an annual subscription to ART costs $398.
