An envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks Tuesday with Syria's leader and delivered a message from the Russian president, reported the state SANA news agency.
Former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, the Russian envoy, and President Bashar Assad discussed the Middle East and the upcoming US-hosted Annapolis peace parley.
Primakov handed over a note to Assad from Putin on the "the situation in the region and bilateral relations," SANA said.
