Quartet to meet key Arab nations Sept. 23 to promote Arab-Israeli peace

The international Mideast mediators known as the Quartet will meet with key Arab nations next month to promote new efforts to revive the Arab-Israeli peace process, the UN's top Middle East envoy said Wednesday.
Michael Williams, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, told the Security Council the Sept. 23 meeting will be "an important moment" to take stock of Palestinian-Israeli discussions now underway and prepare for a US-sponsored international peace conference in November.
