Rafah crossing opening postponed to Saturday

The opening of the Rafah border crossing was postponed until Saturday due to a shortage of international monitors. The crossing was initially scheduled to open on Friday. Only 20 of the 70 planned European inspectors have been posted at the site. Still, the opening ceremony was set to proceed as planned, attended by top Palestinian Authority officials. The head of the EU team assigned to overview the crossing stated that, initially, Rafah would be open for only four hours per day, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.
