Report: Girl killed by IDF shelling

Palestinian witnesses: 8-year-old Hadil Ghraben killed when shell hits home.

An 8-year-old Palestinian girl was killed Monday when a shell fired by Israeli artillery hit her house in northern Gaza, hospital officials and witnesses said. Thirteen others were wounded, ranging from one year old to 17. The shell set the house, at the northern edge of the town of Beit Lahiya, on fire, an ambulance driver said. Hadil Ghraben, 8, died shortly after being taken to the hospital. All the casualties were members of the same family. A relative, Samir Ghraben, 29, said there were two explosions and children started screaming. "The scene was horrible. The children, who were either sitting or playing, were wounded. They were covered with blood and rubble," he said, calling it a "cold-blooded massacre" by Israel. The IDF had no immediate comment on the incident but confirmed that Israel has been shelling populated areas where terrorists fire rockets at Israel.
