By JERUSALEM POST STAFFSaddam Hussein's half brother, who is standing trial with the former Iraqi leader on charges of crimes against humanity, has appealed to world and Iraqi leaders to release him so he can seek cancer treatment, according to a letter published Friday.
Barazan Ibrahim al-Tikriti also asked Saudi, Moroccan and United Arab Emirates leaders to help free him, saying he had nothing to do with Saddam's 35 years of brutal rule.
Al-Tikriti wrote that medical checks showed he had spinal cancer but no treatment was available him in prison.
Al-Tikriti was Saddam's intelligence chief and is accused of ordering and carrying our executions in Dujail.
